Payment Methods
All payments, including co-pays and/or deductibles, are due at each session. Fees are payable by any major credit card or health savings account card.
Insurances
Accepted Insurances:
- Aetna
- Blue Cross Blue Shield
Because each insurance plan is different, it’s a good idea to contact your insurance company to verify your benefits and find out how insurance will pay for counseling.
Private Pay and Out-of-Network
Counseling fees will be an out-of-pocket expense at the time of services. A superbill can be provided upon request for possible reimbursement directly to clients from out-of-network insurance companies.
Sliding Scale Fee
While counseling does often require a financial investment, it is our desire to make sure that your sessions are affordable to you. Clients using the sliding scale are required to provide proof of total Annual Household Income (AHI) in order to determine their placement on the sliding scale of fees. Acceptable forms of AHI include: current year tax return, W-2, paystub, letter from employer, self-employment ledger, and letter from government agency for unemployment benefits. The intake office will coordinate a time to view your AHI documentation prior to your appointment to determine the rate. Clients who do not provide current AHI will need to pay the standard counseling rate at time of service.
Verifying Your Insurance
Questions to ask:
-
Does it cover Mental Health or Behavioral Health benefits?
-
Does your plan have a deductible? If so, ask if you have met any amount towards the deductible, including family or individual plans?
-
Do you have a co-pay or co-insurance, and what is it for counseling services?
-
Ask if you need a referral or a prior authorization before you see a therapist?
-
Ask if there are any limits to how many sessions you can have in a calendar year? If so, how many?
-
If you are receiving counseling through telehealth, please inquire about whether your insurance benefits cover telehealth services.
Please contact the intake coordinator at info@theoakscommunity.org with any questions. We are glad to assist you in deciding the best way to pay for counseling services.
